Curry Chicken and Saim

Mom’s Curry Chicken and Saim

Aaaah, there’s nothing like cooking in harmony with the seasons. Currently one of my favorite vegetables, saim (a type of broad bean), is in season and like Chennette’s mom, my mother has been going a bit buckwild with it :D I certainly don’t mind!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :D

    Hey Boriqua Burekaboy :D
I have never seen saim outside of Trinidad.. but I hear it’s called broad beans in other places. Only problem is none of the images I’ve seen of broad beans look like our saim! When next we buy some I will take pictures of it in the raw state :D

cool, would love to see that. broadbeans are called favas sometimes and i have seen some people call them lima beans but i don’t think that’s right. saim, as you call them, might be something unique to your part of the world.

Dear Ant, so glad you liked the look and sound of this recipe :) I’ll have to ask my mom for the recipe and that may take a while… in the meantime why not check out the many other curry recipes that I have on this site for curried vegetables as well as curry chicken? :) Best Wishes and Happy Eating :)

    Hi Guys

Saim is not unique to Trinidad…it’s in Jamaica…Knew it in Jamaica before I went to Trinidad and saw it…

Hey Ant, thanks for the vibes :) unfortunately it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting this recipe anytime soon, mom refuses to write it out for me and I’m never around when she actually is in the process of making it :*( If that changes, I’ll let you know…
