Technical Difficulties!

Well well well, look how allyuh get me in trouble! :lol: I finished last weekend feeling on top of the world. I had attended Taste T&T, met Lilandra and Chennette, and had given TriniGourmet a spanking hot new redesign. Yes, life was good. Then, Monday afternoon, in the middle of writing my recap of Taste T&T I got an error when I tried to save my draft. A ’suspended’ error. I was most bewildered. But, don’t worry my former webhost, let me know what was what. Apparently TriniGourmet was simply too popular for them to keep online so they had pulled it down, with no warnings or room for discussion. Charming! After 5 years of taking my money their only response was for me to find another host. So, I did :evil:

It’s taking me a while to recustomize everything (thankfully I regularly back up my blog, and had performed a backup just before everything went down so nothing was lost!). Please bear with me if you run into any snags. Even better, let me know if you do so I can fix them ASAP. Hopefully everything will be completely back on track within another day or two and my recap of Taste T&T will finally be up. Until then check out Chennette’s review. I suppose in the end this is all a good sign though and in a perverse way it’s kind of flattering, so I’m trying to take these ‘growing pains’ in that spirit :P

    Hey Sarina, I just wanted to tell you that your design looks great. I didn’t see it before since I subscribe to your RSS feed, but when you mentioned it, I had to come get a look see. I’m proud that you’ve outgrown your old host - that shows real growth. However, they’re still bastards for dropping you like that. Cheers to you!

    Hey Mani :) Thanks for taking the time to pop in and thanks for the appreciation :) Hehe I figured many people were reading via RSS which is why I mentioned the new design :lol: Ah still mad at those web foolz, but what yuh go do? :) I actually got a better deal on this set up so even though it’s been close to 24 hours of non stop uploading and editing of a zillion files by this time next week I will have forgotten all the hassle, and when my credit card gets charged I”ll be grinnin’ and skinnin’ :P
    Were you at Taste TnT? :)

    who are your knew hosts?

    hehe, hehe :) my old hosts were colossalhost.com, i currently am on GoDaddy for a trial basis, have heard mixed reviews so thought I’d give em a month. Have a few other names to try and a friend offered me free hosting on the corporate server he manages. I may take that up but would prefer not to. So far no probs with GoDaddy, had some conflicts and glitches but i seem to have patched them all so far :) Still sleepy? :)

    Dead beat.
    I don’t really like GoDaddy as a webhost. I don’t think I’d have problems with them but…it’s so hard to use I bang my head on walls :-)

    I’ve been using A Small Orange’s tiny package because it’s all I need. I don’t get such traffic to my site!

    Well the GoDaddy bandwidth was a huge factor in my decision and that i could make the shift to virtual dedicated server which it looks will be inevitable at some point … it was a bit of a frustrating curve (the user panel) being used to Cpanel, especially as i was trying to get everything back up in as little time as possible, but I know where everything i need is now and feeling much more comfortable :)
