The Trinidad ‘Nutsman’ (video)
Filed Under multimedia | Posted on January 3, 2007
In Trinidad the nutsman is a fixture on the street food scene and at sporting events. Sometimes he moves around with a cart, other times with a tray around his neck. Yet others have roadside stands, like the man in the above clip from the bookmann. As you can see people line up, prepared to wait, if a particular vendor’s reputation has dubbed his roasting style worthy. You can get your nuts plain, salted, or honey roasted.
Click here to see another nutsman in action (note that the nuts are transported on the back of his modified bicycle!)

Hey, Sarina! Did you film the clip? Guess I’ll have to add the “nutman” to my must-do list for Trinidad!
Joshua!
I cannot take credit for the clip however I’m glad you enjoyed it
Hopefully many more things will be added to that to-do list
Remember when the honey roasted first came out?
There were a few vendors.
Then it went out of style hahah
Honey roasted back gyul
but not like a bigshot thing anymore
it just normal
that’s nuts man! LOL. seriously though, they outlawed selling anything here in my province cause it’s not considered “clean”
not foodstalls or hawkers here.
haha seriously they should reconsider that… i am convinced that’s why americans keep dying of salmonella and e.coli… no resistance… street food from birth takes care of that! clean be damned, it’s all about the germs
we have allllll kind of street vendors hawking everything
