Trinidadian Holiday Bread Traditions?

Double chocolate oreo cheesecake (and yes those are marshmallows under the topping!) - Vie de France,Trinidad

So perusing the old ‘interwebz’ I came across this press release from the Atlanta Bread Company. They were issuing their holiday bakery offerings and it made me think. Hmm I don’t think any of the bakeries around here offer anything different at Xmas time. But maybe I’m just not out and about enough so if anyone knows of any Trinidadian Christmas bakery traditions feel free to enlighten me! :)

For what it’s worth the holiday offerings at the Atlanta Bread Company sounded quite delicious, including a rich Peppermint Pattie Latte and a Chocolate Almond Rocha Latte both topped with whipped cream that I think Rituals (our version of Starbucks) should definitely take up! I also wouldn’t turn down their Craisin Chicken Salad on Ciabatta (Chicken salad mixed with sliced almonds and dried cranberries with lettuce, tomato and onion on freshly-baked ciabatta bread)!

If you live in Trinidad and want sinful pastries, visit “Le Jardin des Tuileries” in West Mall Westmooring. A little pricey but worth every bite.
