Am desperately trying to find somewhere that sells doubles in San Francisco or the surrounding areas. Please help! (Have used your recipe before and my doubles were gone in no time— the pictures were a Godsend— but am going to be in California for a little while with no kitch and really want to find somewhere to get my doubles fix! Thanks!

Lydia – I think it takes comfort food to a new level but that’s just me

Malika – Look for it under the names salted cod, bacalao or such, if there are Portugese supermarkets that’s a good bet too

I have tried the macaroni pie and it was delicious. Not sure where I can get saltfish around my home, must have a look.
