This video has been making the rounds recently. From the first time I saw it I -knew- I had to share it with y’all Created by Trini animator, Ansar Sattar, Vendor Rivalry won Animae Caribe’s 2009 Most Oustanding Caribbean Animation Award.

Synopsis: A casual encounter soon escalates into a battle royale, as two local vendors get pushed over the edge. An animated take on a day in the life of two Trini Caribbean vendors, as an initial battle of words is transformed into a kung fu showdown on the busy streets of Trinidad.

I saw it yesterday and i have shown it to some of my noncaribbean friends and they love it.I am not a trini iwas born in aruba, grew up in dominica worked in st.croix.Iam a true west indian and i will represent all the islands .ONE LOVE great video, Tom& Jerry move aside here comes DE TRINI

I am humbled at the positive response of VR, and I hope to create a sequel for sure. Brilliant! My 4 year old and 13 yr old and DH all loved this. RTOFL My daughter asked a good question. Why are we not seeing this on our local TV station the same way Cartoon Network has their Cartoon shorts?

oh I love this. even to the point of sharing it with non Trinis who didn't quite get all the words :-) other than the frequent use of "boy" :-D
