Naparima Cookbook Order Updates!

13 January 2008 3,382 views 16 Comments

Naparima Girls' CookbookIn other news… 2008 has barely begun and already it’s stressing me out. The New Year literally started out with me submitting my first refund, in over a year of mailing out Naparima Cookbooks. And it wasn’t the last… It appears that everything shipped on December 5th has gone AWOL. What makes this upsetting to me is that the packages were mailed promptly from my end and did arrive in the US, however the US Postal Service still has failed to forward them from the port of entry. Now I get to bear the brunt of everyone’s frustrations… fun… (not). Looks like I’ll be filing a few compensation claims with TTPost by the end of the month :?

Over the past 4 months TTPost has made quite a few changes when it comes to the rules and regulations governing Express Mail packages. They’ve been inconvenient and timeconsuming enough for me to consider discontinuing my Naparima Book Service (and I do consider it a service, as opposed to the opinions of a few I am -definitely- not making any wild profits on this – I wish  ). We’ll see :(

I’m sorry to hear your year is off to such a start. I can not imagine how frustrating this must be for you.

Hopefully, it is all uphill from here!

I’m sure that the post on both Trinidad’s side and USPS will honor their end of the bargain, but unfortunately it will take some pressing. I’d imagine with everything it takes to ship between, there should be *some* tracking info somewhere, and I’d think a few calls to the USPS, working your way up the ladder might be in order. I’ve had luck tracking down packages with them that didn’t have any tracking info, so long as I was able to provide a few details. Best of luck!

Oh man! Best of luck with those taxes, they can be awful to get through when you aren’t working for a typical company. Stay happy!

I’m not sure where you are located. I am in Canada and I don’t live far from Toronto. On that note there is a store called Charlies West Indies Supermarket located in Mississauga Ontario, the last time I was there they were selling the cookbook for around $30 – $35 so if you are having problems you can search for them on the net they are on Hurontario and Dundas St. Possible you can find out some info from them and possibly make a deal with them. Sorry to hear of your troubles, thought I could give a suggestion, since I lost my book I myself want to replace it, but I do love the web site, I’m married to a Trini and have stayed there for months on end so I am a self learner and that book has taught me alot on top of adding my own touches… I would really love the recipie for chiken and dumpling soup, actually some call it West Idies soup they add provisions as well and Corn soup if anyone has this recipie Please send it to me… triniteresa@hotmail.com Thanks and Good Luck…..
