Hyatt Trinidad Saturday Brunch!
Wow! 2020 has been such an insane ride. I don’t think many of us knew what we would be in for when the clock struck midnight on January 1st. I know I didn’t!
From January until my birthday, back in April, I was merrily live-streaming cooking and lifestyle shows on the Twitch platform (which I love by the way!) and then I pulled my shoulder, badly. Cooking has been severely impacted and I’m still healing. Oh and did I mention a little thing called COVID19 which has the planet (and Trinidad) in various stages of lockdown?
As a full-time caregiver to my mother I’ve taken the social distancing restrictions and hygiene guidelines extremely seriously which means that between trying to recover from my injury (I start PT soon) I have totally been housebound outside of running the odd necessary errand.
That’s why, when I was recently offered the chance to take in the new Saturday Brunch being offered by the Hyatt Trinidad I was simultaneously nervous and excited.
What would dining in the “new normal” look like? Feel like?
I need not have worried!
Upon arriving (don’t forget your face mask!) signage from the elevators to the washbasin at the entry and thermometer checks make it clear that no chances are being taken.
Once inside automated hand sanitizing stations and social distancing stickers make it easy to stay on code.
Once inside the dining area you’ll notice that the tables are spaced further apart, once again adhering to social distancing guidelines. Staff are outfitted with masks and gloves and dining guests are expected to keep their masks on in the buffet line.
Held on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the Hyatt Saturday Brunch features all your local breakfast favorites along with a wide range of lunch specialties for the jaw-dropping price of TT$249 (exclusive of taxes) per person.
Enjoy everything from fresh breads, pancakes and pastries to piping hot curry chicken, steak and fish, as well as cold cuts at a fully stocked salad bar and… did I mention doubles?
