On March 15, I had the delightful opportunity to taste 5 new additions to the dessert menu at Hyatt Trinidad, and let me tell you, it was a journey of sweet discoveries that left me utterly enchanted. Today, I’m excited to share my indulgent adventure with you and to dive deeper into each creation.

Hyatt Trinidad dessert menu - Pina Colada Gateaux

First up – the Pina Colada Gateaux. This was, for me, the most sophisticated offering of the afternoon. Rich coconut flavours mingling with sharp bursts of fresh mint and Malibu-infused pineapple, all nestled within a light coconut “snow” and encased in tempered chocolate bark. It’s a tropical paradise on a plate, perfect for those seeking new and exotic experiences.

As we move on to the Brookie a la Mode, prepare to be transported to a chocolate lover’s heaven. Imagine sinking your teeth into warm chocolate chip cookie dough, topped with a decadent brownie. Caramel sauce and a scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream add the final flavour flourishes. It’s a symphony of sweet indulgence that’s sure to impress even the most discerning dessert connoisseurs.

Now, let’s delve into the whimsical world of the Strawberry Shortcake. This isn’t your average shortcake – oh no. Last in the new additions to the Hyatt Trinidad dessert menu (but certainly not least), we have the Mango Cheesecake. This is a vegan and gluten-free delight that’s as refreshing as it is indulgent. A light and airy custard “cheesecake” accompanied by a luscious and intense mango and mint coulis with crispy sable breton.

Chef Avanelle James truly outdid herself with these creations, and the portion sizes are so generous – perfect for sharing or treating yourself to something extra special.
