I grew up accustomed to using Angostura in cold beverages (juices, punches, cocktails). Very limited use, so a bottle of Angostura would last us a couple of years maybe. My ex is Trini, and he uses Angostura in things I’d never imagined using it in: soups, stews, marinades, teas, coffee, on ice cream, in pasta sauce. I thought it was strange, but now I do it too — I’ve gone through three bottles of Angostura in the past year!

it’s kinda funny how much it is a reflex for us Trinis to put a dash of bitters on anything that looks edible

Last night someone (American) asked me what they could use as a substitute. My heart literally stopped lol. There is noooo substitute for Angostura baybeee
